Easter Season Sermons (2005)

Service: Date: May 15, 2005 Liturgical Day: The Day of Pentecost Sermon Title: Peace, Go, Forgive

Summary: On May 15, 2005, eleven young people who had completed their catechetical studies affirmed their faith at Saint Peter, and became adult members of the church. Pastor Dave charged them to allow Christ the center place in their lives, to lean on the peace that only comes from God, to go and share the power of the resurrection with the world, and to work for forgiveness in their relationships with God and with one another. He charged the rest of us to do the same.

Date: April 10, 2005 Liturgical Day: The Third Sunday of Easter Sermon Title: Worship that Makes a Difference

Summary: On April 10, 2005 a snowstorm hit the Denver area at about 7:45 a.m. eventually leaving up to two feet of snow on the ground in various areas of Denver. A few straggled in for the early service, but as the road conditions worsened, the decision was made to cancel Sunday School and the second service. Pastor Dave preached this sermon on the importance of worship -- and the hope that as Easter people get together, God transforms them through worship in ways that give them faith and hope and life.
