Date: May 23, 2010Liturgical Day: The Day of Pentecost; Year C Sermon Title: Inspired to Care
Summary: On the first Day of Pentecost, the believers were inspired by the Holy Spirit in extraordinary ways. The early church was inspired by the Holy Spirit in ordinary, day-to-day experiences as well. Stephen, whose name is honored by our present-day Stephen Ministry care-giving program, is a model for how the Spirit inspires believers to care for one another, and to become instruments of God's love and grace.

Liturgical Day: The Sixth Sunday of Easter; Year C Sermon Title: Lydia: A Mother's Faith and Generosity

Liturgical Day: The Third Sunday of Easter; Year C Sermon Title: A Genuine Interest in the Other
Summary: One of the reasons the early church thrived was because they had a genuine interest in those who were curious about their faith. They were willing to do whatever they could -- whatever was necessary -- to help others know Jesus, and have faith in him. Churches and individual believers who live with a similar passion today experience a deep sense of peace and joy and meaning.

Date: April 11, 2010 Liturgical Day: The Second Sunday of Easter; Year C Sermon Title: Witnesses of These Things
The early church had a strong and believable witness. As they shared their stories about the difference Jesus made in their lives, many people became interested in becoming followers of Jesus themselves. Consequently: they lived with a great deal of joy and purpose, and their community grew in significant ways. The Holy Spirit inspires us to have the same kind of witness, and to experience the same kind of joy, purpose and growth. We too, like them, are witnesses of these things.
